At the Carroll Law Office, our legal services are backed by diverse knowledge and decades of hands-on experience. Our passion for upholding the law is reflected in our history of legal representation. You can see the roots of our commitment in the story of our principal attorney, James Carroll, who began practicing law in March of 2013.

James is a member of the California State Bar Association and the Sonoma County Bar Association. Prior to becoming an attorney, James worked as a paralegal for several well-known attorneys. He volunteered his skills at Legal Aid of Sonoma County, representing victims of domestic violence in court to obtain restraining orders. He also represented tenants facing evictions in mediation and in the courtroom. By the time he had graduated from law school, he had already represented hundreds of clients in many different courts of law.

Before becoming an attorney, Jim served as a Sergeant in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and as a Drill Sergeant in the Army Reserves. Because he has also owned and operated small businesses, he now practices law with an understanding of the challenges faced by business people. He has experience with tax preparation and bookkeeping and was an accounting major at Sonoma State University, all of which helps him to understand and solve complex financial matters in family law.
